Our 24/7 Helpline 0808 808 8141 is available for anyone concerned about an older person who may be experiencing harm, abuse, or exploitation. Older people aged 60 and over can access support directly through our helpline, via text 07860 052906 , instant message on website, and chatbot. Family members and friends who have concerns about an older person aged 60 and over can also contact our Helpline for advice and support. We also have a specialist IDVA service for older people aged 60 and over who are suffering Domestic Abuse.

Hourglass defines the abuse of older people as a single or repeated act or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust, which causes harm or distress to an older person.

The following are examples of types of abuse we can provide information and support on: Physical abuse, Psychological abuse, Domestic abuse, Neglect, Financial abuse or Sexual abuse

How are services delivered?

We provide a free and confidential 24/7 helpline, our number will not appear on your phone bill.
