Crossroads: Braintree & Chelmsford
Here at Crossroads Braintree & Chelmsford we provide a trained care support worker to look after your loved one while you have a little time for yourself. Many carers use the time to visit friends, shop or attend vital appointments to look after their own health. We offer help, support and companionship and respite - see below for further details. There is a cost for respite services but other services may be free if you meet Essex County Council criteria - see below.
Help and support: Crossroads provides regular short breaks to carers who would like a little time to themselves. Our trained care support staff will come into your home and take care of the person you are caring for a few hours each week to give you a break.
Companionship: Do you just need company? One of our team of Care Support Workers can visit you and provide a vital human element to your day. They will become a trusted, friendly face, someone to share your interests with, while offering companionship. Help can also be offered with digital skills, paying bills and finding funding advice.
Parents carers of children with disabilities: If you are a parent of a child with a disability or illness, we can provide a trained Care Support Worker to give you support and time for yourself
Respite day care centre: As an alternative to home care, the aim of the Centre is to provide a safe, friendly and relaxed atmosphere both for carers and the cared for with an opportunity to meet and socialise with other people in a similar situation. A daily charge of £44 per person which includes a two course meal freshly prepared on the premises, refreshments and activities.
