Strength and Balance Otago (falls prevention)

Otago, Strength and Balance is aimed at people who have fallen or are at risk of falls. The classes are designed to extend exercise after the NHS 12 weeks FP classes. Ankle weights are used to strengthen and support joints and balance exercises are practiced in class weekly. Patients are given a homework booklet and are encouraged to practice independently 2-3 times weekly at home. Also, great for people who suffer from arthritis to help strengthening the muscles around affected joints which can ease pain. These classes cost £5 each.
