Mid and North East Essex Mind: Mid Essex Sanctuary
The Mid Essex Sanctuary provides a safe, supportive space where people experiencing mental health crisis can receive support outside of normal working hours. We provide emotional and practical support, guidance, and intervention to address the factors contributing to an individual’s crisis. The team work to de-escalate distress and develop a plan for ongoing support. The Sanctuary operates as part of the 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Response and Care Service across Mid Essex from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and bank holidays. Weekdays: 09:00am – 1:00am and Weekends: 6:00pm – 1:00am.

Who can use this service?
Anyone living in Mid Essex (Chelmsford, Maldon or Braintree).
How are services delivered?
Once you call NHS 111 (Option 2) you will be triaged by a clinician and a referral to our service can be made. We will make contact to provide an emotional support call.
