The Salvation Army Chelmsford Citadel provides practical, social and wellbeing support for people and families in the Chelmsford community. Support includes community drop-ins, help with employment and skills, limited food and clothing assistance, social activities and groups for families, children and adults. The team offers a warm welcome, a listening ear and practical help, including support with forms and connecting people with other local services.

The Salvation Army Chelmsford Citadel offers a welcoming community space at Baddow Road, with a range of practical and social support including:
- Community Drop-In (Monday and Thursday, 10:00 to 12:00pm). A warm welcome, listening ear, help with forms and connecting with further support. During winter, a warm space with soup and a roll is available, with warm clothing subject to availability.
- Employment Plus (In person Monday 10:00 to 12:00pm). Flexible, person-centred support with CVs, job searching, applications, interviews, skills, confidence, volunteering and employment opportunities. Support can also address barriers such as housing, benefits and money management. Support can also be delivered virtually.
- Practical support. Clothing vouchers for the Salvation Army charity shop and limited food vouchers for families where appropriate.
- Community activities including carpet bowls (every Monday from 10:00 to 12:00pm £2), Rising Stars parent and toddler group (Wednesday during term time 10am-Midday and 1pm-3pm £1 per family), Lunch Club (Thursday 12-1pm £5) and Home League.
- Children and young people – children’s and youth groups run alongside Sunday morning worship for ages 3–18.
- Friendship and community – opportunities to meet others, take part in activities and access further local support.
- Computer Club - first and second Friday of the month, 10:00am to 12:00pm. £8 per session, or £40 for six sessions

Support is mainly provided in person at the Salvation Army Chelmsford Citadel, 70 Baddow Road. Employment Plus is also delivered virtually.
Some activities are term-time or fortnightly and some require advance booking.
